Through a partnership with Fraser Sensory Certified, we’ve taken significant steps to ensure that every child who walks through our doors feels comfortable, understood, and valued.
Understanding the unique challenges faced by children with sensory processing disorder (SPD), we’ve implemented innovative solutions to create a sensory-conscious space within our salon. Soft, calming colors adorn our walls, fostering a serene atmosphere. In addition to specialized lighting designed to reduce glare, we’ve curated a selection of fidgets and sensory toys to help children stay calm and engaged during their haircut experience.
One of the highlights of our Sensory Safe Salon is our dedicated area for Sense-Sational Kids. In this space, there are no TVs to overwhelm sensory-sensitive children. Instead, they have the option to watch their preferred show on a tablet or enjoy a quiet environment if they prefer. We understand that every child is unique, and we strive to accommodate their individual needs and preferences.
To help children better prepare for their haircut, we’ve developed pre-visit materials that families can access online. These materials provide information and visuals to familiarize children with the salon environment, the haircut process, and our friendly staff. By offering these resources, we aim to reduce anxiety and ensure a smoother experience for both children and their parents.
