Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids in Buford, Georgia, is under new ownership. The children’s salon is located just outside the Mall of Georgia at 3200 Woodward Crossing Boulevard in the Shoppes at Buford shopping center across from Target.
Originally hired as a stylist, new owner Isela Velasco fell in love with cutting kids’ hair, inspiring her to move up to manager and now owner of the Buford, Georgia salon.
I love being here, I’ve managed to build a community with personal relationships. It’s very rewarding to see a happy parent, but the most rewarding part is the contagious love that parents feel for their children."
Excited about this new venture, Isela wants to show the community that a first-generation Latina can own a business and have a successful career despite starting later in life. “I’m excited to learn and be in the owner position to improve and provide even better service to bring confidence to babies and parents,” said Isela.
With bright colors and whimsical decor, the Gwinnett County children’s salon creates the perfect kid-friendly atmosphere, including sensory-safe services. In addition to themed vehicle chairs, the salon offers movies and a variety of other toys children can enjoy before, during and after their haircuts. The salon also features a retail section filled with children’s hair products, accessories and gifts.
